Overview
In this role you provide hands-on desktop support in a busy customer environment, resolving incidents and fulfilling requests to maintain a responsive, high-quality user experience. You will operate onsite in Derby, collaborating with Level 3 teams to handle major issues and support project tasks. You troubleshoot hardware, software, and network peripherals and install configurations to keep endpoints productive. The role supports Computacenter’s mission to deliver robust IT infrastructure and emphasizes teamwork and performance. This is a hands-on position that offers impact across incident resolution, service delivery, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Handle incident and request tasks with 2nd line responsibility
- Resolve incidents to SLA and maintain <2>
- Complete assigned work within timeframes
- Support internal and external Project Managers on project tasks
- Address Non-Standard Requests within agreed timescales
- Coordinate with Level 3 teams for major issues
- Troubleshoot laptop/desktop hardware, networks, printers, etc.
- Install and configure software and hardware
Key requirements
- Windows 10/11 expertise including build, configuration, and registry settings
- Office proficiency
- LTSC Channels and KIOSK (desirable)
- SCCM/Active Directory basic understanding
- Networking knowledge (LAN/WAN/VLAN, Wi-Fi, DHCP, DNS/WINS, PXE, VPN)
- MS Exchange environment and Outlook etiquette
- Peripherals knowledge (printers, displays, docking stations, cameras, scanners)
- ITSM software (ServiceNow) familiarity
- Excellent customer interface and service skills
- Flexible with working hours
- Full UK Driving Licence
- SC Cleared or eligible for SC Clearance
