Are you ready to shape the future of Private Cloud at Computacenter? We’re looking for a Practice Lead to take a pivotal role in growing our Private Cloud capability, with a strong focus on Broadcom and VMware technologies. This is a high‑impact leadership opportunity within our Consultancy Practice, combining people leadership, customer advisory, proposition development and delivery governance. As a Player/Manager, you’ll spend around 60% of your time leading and developing the team, and 40% supporting consultancy pre‑sales and delivery assurance. You’ll be the figurehead for our Private Cloud practice: building capability, influencing strategy, supporting major customer opportunities and helping organisations modernise their infrastructure platforms. What you’ll do

  • Lead, coach and develop our Private Cloud consulting team, supporting recruitment, performance, engagement, capability growth and succession planning.
  • Create a high‑performing culture where consultants and architects are empowered to deliver quality, innovation and customer impact.
  • Own practice performance through effective forecasting, resource planning, utilisation management and contribution to profitable growth.
  • Build strong relationships with partners, Solution Leaders, Sales, Marketing and technical stakeholders to shape compelling Private Cloud and Broadcom‑aligned propositions.
  • Act as a senior advisor to customers on data centre modernisation, private cloud operating models, platform rationalisation and transformation roadmaps.
  • Develop trusted relationships with senior internal and customer stakeholders, including executive and C‑level audiences.
  • Lead and govern complex pre‑sales and delivery assurance activity for major transformation opportunities, including ITTs, RFIs and RFPs.
  • Collaborate across Consultancy & Engineering, Technical Solutions Sales, Delivery and Operations to define scalable solutions and support wider organisational growth.
  • Use social media and other communication channels to raise the profile of Computacenter, the Consultancy Practice and your own thought leadership.

What you’ll need

  • Extensive experience in IT consultancy, with a strong understanding of consultancy and project delivery methodologies.
  • Proven people leadership experience, including developing, scaling and inspiring consulting or architecture teams.
  • A strong understanding of IT infrastructure, private cloud architecture and hybrid cloud operating models in complex enterprise environments.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Broadcom and VMware private cloud technologies, including VMware Cloud Foundation, vSphere, vSAN, NSX and associated management, automation and security capabilities.
  • The ability to engage confidently with senior customers, business decision‑makers, technical teams and C‑level stakeholders.
  • Experience applying governance and assurance processes to manage risk across pre‑sales and in‑flight delivery.
  • Experience creating virtual teams and bringing together expertise from across Professional Services and Group functions.
  • A proactive approach to building relationships with customers, vendors, partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong experience in stakeholder management, executive engagement and influencing senior leaders.
  • Experience shaping requirements, building solutions and developing cost models with appropriate governance.
  • A track record of shaping, leading and commercialising innovative services that strengthen market differentiation and customer value.
