A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Test Manager to join the Test & Validation Management Team (TVM). The objective of the team is to protect the customers' IT environments from any adverse impact of releases introduced into these environments (e.g. monthly Microsoft security patching). This is done by performing testing of the in-scope applications and services. TVM manages the entire test lifecycle, from reviewing requirements, through planning, test execution and defect management, to making a recommendation for the release under test.
What you'll do:
- Test Portfolio management and planning - 40%
- Responsible for managing the overall Test Portfolio within Group Managed Services Test & Validation function
- Responsible for validating and responding to project request submissions, providing resource and cost estimates
- Ensure the Test Portfolio is managed according to agreed SLAs/KPIs and that assigned resources are adhering to standard processes
- Track BAU/TRS cost management & control ensuring the Test Portfolio is profitable
- Review and approve programme and project artefacts relating to Test Management across the portfolio
- Provide a point of escalation for projects and programmes under management
- Participate in monthly Test Governance meetings, ensuring that Project, Programme and Portfolio management is in line with agreed best practice approach
- Provide detailed cost models for Managed Service bids as part of Pre-Sales efforts
- Support sales team with technical implementation knowledge and experience
- Create and maintain associated process / procedure / control documentation
- Technical Escalation point for Test Managed Service - 20%
- Act as the technical escalation point for all Test Managed Service Business As Usual activities
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to BAU testing team across all aspects of the test delivery model
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to agree and action appropriate solutions
- Provide thought leadership in Testing for the Windows 10 Evergreen service offering
- Ensure that Testing is continually improved through increased use of automation
- Look to broaden scope of testing within both internal and customer model office environments
- Work closely with group-wide Windows 10 SMEs to shape future direction of the Windows 10 Evergreen offering
- Strategy and Service Development - 20%
- Contribute towards the longer term Testing strategy, collaborating with 3rd party suppliers and customers
- Work with Service Line Owner / Head of test on strategies to expand and grow the portfolio
- Contribute towards continual service improvement best practices
What you'll need:
- Knowledge of good Test artefact creation (Test strategies, test planning, test reporting)
- Good team planning and communication skills
- Ability to present ideas and communicate well across technical teams, customers and management
- Use of Test Management tools such as HP QLM, Jira, SpiraTeams or equivalents
- Knowledge or experience using system tools used during testing. These may include: Software delivery tools (Workspace One, SCCM, Azure), Policy tools (e.g. Active Directory and Group policy, Workspace One policy UEM)
- ISTQB or equivalent testing experience and qualifications
