Job Summary:

The Medical Technologist will perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires adherence to established protocols and collaboration with clinical staff to ensure high-quality laboratory services. Please note that all new hires must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and will undergo a drug screen, including nicotine, as Kettering Health is a nicotine-free organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform tests as ordered in assigned laboratory sections, which may include:
    • Chemistry
    • Hematology
    • Transfusion Service
    • Microbiology
  • Work under general supervision while adhering to established protocols.
  • Seek guidance from coordinators or professional personnel as needed.
  • Assist Clinical Laboratory Assistants (CLAs) and other technical team members.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Laboratory Science is required.
  • Current Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification (ASCP) is required.
  • Credentialing through the Proficiency Examination administered under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (formerly Health, Education, and Welfare).
