The Physical Therapist (PT) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with physical impairments, functional limitations, or movement-related conditions. This role focuses on restoring mobility, reducing pain, improving functional independence, and preventing disability through evidence-based therapeutic interventions. The Physical Therapist works collaboratively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality rehabilitative care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide therapeutic interventions including exercises, manual therapy, modalities, and functional training
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document outcomes accurately
  • Educate patients and caregivers on treatment goals, home exercise programs, and injury prevention
  • Supervise and guide Physical Therapist Assistants and support staff as applicable
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
  • Ensure patient safety, proper body mechanics, and adherence to infection control practices
  • Maintain treatment equipment and ensure a safe therapeutic environment
  • Comply with ethical standards, state practice acts, and healthcare regulations

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program
  • Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years
  • Current Physical Therapist license or eligibility for licensure in the applicable state
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and rehabilitation techniques
  • Ability to assess, diagnose, and develop evidence-based treatment plans
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills
