We’re on the lookout for an exceptional Dev Ops engineer to join our team.
Your work will have a significant impact and the role will expose you to working on a range of open-source projects for the not-for-profit sector.
You will be working with other Dev Ops engineers, but also with PO, development and QA teams, helping to define the deployment tools and processes in Compuc.
We’re a very process-driven team and constantly seek to develop and refine the way we work to ensure that we continue to deliver the highest quality service to our clients and to the sector as a whole.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production infrastructure and mission-critical systems.
- Liaise with Development, QA, POs and other stakeholders to be aligned with the needs of the company infrastructure.
- Stay up-to-date with security best practices and integrate security at every level of the stack.
- Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues for live environments.
- Provide infrastructure architecture advice for Compuc development teams.
- Investigate new infrastructure technology and solutions.
Experience sought
- 4+ years’ experience with Linux administration experience.
- 3+ years’ experience with web server and PHP applications administration (NGINX preferable).
- 3+ years’ experience with cloud technologies (our stack is mainly AWS), including 2+ years using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
- 3+ years’ experience with Shell Scripting (Bash / Power Shell preferable).
- 3+ years’ experience with networking fundamentals (DNS, TLS/certificates, load balancing, VPN/VPC, and CDN/WAF such as Cloudflare).
- 2+ years’ experience developing automation using Ansible.
- 2+ years’ experience running containers in production (Docker).
- 2+ years’ experience with monitoring and observability tooling (New Relic, Grafana/Loki or equivalent), including responding to production incidents — triage, root-cause analysis and post-mortems.
- 1+ years’ experience operating a container orchestration platform (Docker Swarm; Kubernetes an advantage).
- Comfortable using AI developer tools (e. g.
Claude Code) to accelerate work, with good judgement when reviewing and validating AI-generated solutions, code and configuration before it ships.
- Good Git skills.
Desirable skills
- 1+ years’ CI/CD familiarity (Jenkins / Git Hub Actions), including pipeline scripting in Groovy.
- 1+ years’ database administration experience (My SQL or equivalent).
- 1+ years’ experience with Drupal administration.
- Familiarity with Jira or similar tools for project management and issue tracking.
- Good understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, with the ability to work in an Agile development environment.
