Specialty Doctor / Clinical Fellow in Palliative Medicine

(Permanent / Fixed-term Full-time / Part-time) – Posts available from August 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our skilled, dynamic team at Compton Care, where we provide palliative care to patients with life‑limiting illnesses. The role is based at the 18‑bedded inpatient unit and the Living Well Centre, with additional opportunities to work within our community service. You will work as part of a dedicated medical team alongside consultants and a highly motivated multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide palliative care to patients in inpatient and community settings.
  • Care for patients on the Inpatient Unit and those attending the Living Well Centre.
  • Participate in the 1:5 on‑call rota.
  • Collaborate with the medical team, consultants, and multidisciplinary professionals to ensure high‑quality patient care.
  • Engage in regular medical educational sessions, teaching consultant ward rounds, and inbuilt CPD time.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience post registration.
  • Doctors with less experience but who have completed the Foundation Programme will be considered for a fixed‑term Clinical Fellow post.

Education is a priority, supported by a proactive Learning & Development department. We are research active with a research group that supports both individual and collaborative projects.
