About Compton Care
Compton Care provides high quality, accessible care and support for people in our communities living with life limiting conditions across Wolverhampton, the Black Country, South Staffordshire and East Shropshire. The charity's annual running costs are £16 million, with 70% funded through our stores, fundraising, and donations from amazing supporters.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside the store manager and a dedicated team of volunteers in the Shifnal store for 15 hours per week.
- Maintain trading across 7 days a week, adjusting hours with rotating schedules set 4ā6 weeks in advance.
- Retail donated goods including clothing and homeware, ensuring an inviting shopping experience.
- Take overall supervision of the store in the manager's absence to develop management skills.
- Act as an ambassador for Compton Care, engaging with the local community to promote our story and the impact of the retail store.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in a frontāline retail or hospitality environment.
- Experience in a teamāleader or supervisory role and basic understanding of peopleāmanagement processes.
- Strong communication and relationshipābuilding skills, capable of creating a welcoming environment for shoppers and volunteers.
