Description
Are you an experienced Motor Claims professional with exposure to European portfolios? Do you enjoy handling complex, cross-border claims and working in a highly technical, collaborative environment? We are a fast-growing global reinsurance speciality company servicing the insurance markets of Lloyd's, Europe and North America. We are looking for a Claims Handler to join our growing team, focusing on European Motor portfolios, including business originating from the Netherlands, France and wider European jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
The Role
- You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of international Motor claims, including large and complex cases, ensuring they are handled efficiently and to a high technical standard.
- Working closely with Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) and internal stakeholders, you'll play a key role in driving claims to resolution while maintaining strong reserving discipline and delivering commercial outcomes.
- Handling complex, cross-border claims, including disputed, high-value matters and claims involving bodily injury and catastrophic losses.
- Reviewing and overseeing claims handled by TPAs, particularly those exceeding authority limits.
- Applying strong technical knowledge across liability, coverage and reserving.
- Negotiating with counterparties, legal representatives and stakeholders.
- Identifying trends and contributing to portfolio performance and savings initiatives.
- Supporting due diligence and integration of newly acquired portfolios.
- Collaborating across teams to ensure consistent claims handling standards.
Candidate requirements

- Proven experience handling Motor claims across European jurisdictions.
- Exposure to Dutch and/or French motor portfolios (Essential).
- Strong understanding of motor liability and policy coverage interpretation.
- Experience working with or overseeing Third-Party Administrators (TPAs).
- Confidence handling complex or high-value claims.
- Solid reserving and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple jurisdictions and competing priorities.
