Description
We are a fast-growing global reinsurance speciality company servicing the insurance markets of Lloyd's, Europe and North America. Due to an internal promotion, our COO is looking for a new Head of Portfolio Delivery to oversee the successful delivery of change programmes across the Group. The role will suit an insurance change specialist with a proven track record of leading high performance project management teams to deliver complex change and transformation programmes. This is a complex position that will encompass multiple geographies and regulatory requirements, so it will suit a more hands-on leader who loves getting 'into the weeds' of programmes. Encompassing process and people, there will also be a substantial IT systems change element to the role as we continue a modernisation programme across the Group.
Responsibilities
- Planning and Portfolio Management: Define and manage the portfolio roadmap, working closely with business and technical stakeholders. Ensuring the portfolio is aligned with company strategy and reflects business priorities. Owning the rolling demand plan, annual delivery plan and related investments.
- Project/Program Management: Oversee the delivery of all major transformation programmes and projects, ensuring alignment with business strategy. Ensuring projects are well-managed, adhere to governance, and are delivered with quality, on time and within budget. Identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring projects stay on track. Implementing and monitoring quality assurance processes. Drive best-in-class program and project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid), providing clear and consistent visibility to stakeholders.
- Reporting and Performance Management: Reporting on budgetary, performance and benefit realisation. Monitoring and reporting portfolio performance to senior leadership.
- Team Leadership and Development: Leading and developing the change team, ensuring effective delivery of workflow. Overseeing onboarding, performance reviews and training needs of team members.
- Governance and controls: Management of the Change Control Board, ensuring that new and existing projects are well governed and effectively resourced. Continuous development of Agile and project management practices.
- Deal acquisition Support: Overseeing and supporting new deal acquisition through the Project Management function, to ensure that key timelines are met. Overseeing the development and execution of plans for transition of new business acquisitions, working with both internal and external stakeholders.
