Permanent | Full Time | Saltash, Cornwall | UK & International Travel
Location: You should live within daily commuting distance of our Saltash facility.
As an Electrical Design Engineer at Composite Integration, you’ll be instrumental in the electrical design and development of specialist machinery and equipment used in closed mould composite manufacturing processes. The role will also provide technical assistance to other projects and clients globally.
You’ll work closely with colleagues, suppliers and clients worldwide, contributing to projects that range from luxury marine components to aerospace innovation. No two days are the same; one moment you’ll be turning concepts into detailed electrical designs, the next you could be supporting a client on the factory floor or helping refine a cutting-edge process.
This is a practical engineering role as well as a design position. You’ll work closely with the equipment you design, supporting its build, testing and commissioning both at our Saltash facility and at customer sites.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Research and create electrical design concepts, schematics, drawings and specifications using appropriate software
- Research and identify solutions for equipment and process project work
- Make recommendations regarding design specifications to ensure equipment and processes match client requirements
- Ensure all drawings are added to the MRP system and new part numbers created as required
- Produce all supporting documentation
- Provide in-house hands-on support with the build, commissioning and testing of equipment
- Support electrical fault-finding and problem-solving during equipment build, testing and commissioning
- Support on-site building, commissioning and testing of equipment
- Provide training to clients’ engineers and operators
- Provide clear, professional and competent support to clients via telephone and email
- Create technical drawings to assist with feasibility and ROM cost quoting for clients
- Provide client support with technical equipment enquiries and product development discussions
- Maintain technical expertise and knowledge of emerging technologies, processes and techniques
This is a role where your ideas matter, your skills grow and your work has a tangible impact on the future of composite technology.

- Ability to understand and interpret information and data for design engineering projects
- Ability to read, create and work from electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Experience and understanding of the importance of using document management systems
- A practical, hands-on approach to engineering and problem-solving
Advantageous Experience
- PLC-controlled industrial machinery or automation systems

- Knowledge and practical hands-on experience of closed mould composite processing
- Awareness of relevant design tools, techniques and methods for the closed mould composite sector
- Experience using project management tools and techniques
- Working directly with customers or suppliers in an industrial environment
Previous composites experience is not essential. We’ll teach you our technology and processes; what we’re looking for is strong electrical engineering capability and practical experience that can be applied to our equipment.
