At Fire Safe Services, we’re recruiting a Fire Alarm Small Works Engineer to join our growing team. This role covers the installation and modification of fire alarm systems, including upgrades, extensions, and smaller standalone installations across a variety of sites. You’ll ensure all work is delivered to a high standard, acting as a key technical point of contact on site and supporting the successful delivery of small works projects.

Here’s a look at some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver small works projects including fire alarm installations, modifications, upgrades, and emergency lighting works, ensuring all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and compliance standards.
  • Manage and coordinate engineers and subcontractors on site, ensuring effective resource planning, clear communication, and full compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, monitoring project progress and quality through site visits and documentation reviews, resolving issues, and ensuring client expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Complete accurate project documentation including electronic job sheets, commissioning records, client sign-offs, quotations, material procurement, labour allocation, and risk assessments while assisting with project planning and supporting junior engineers where required.

  • Experience delivering fire alarm and emergency lighting installations, modifications, and upgrades across a range of systems and environments.
  • Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, emergency lighting systems, industry regulations, health & safety standards, and relevant fire safety legislation.
  • Experience coordinating small works projects, engineers, or subcontractors while maintaining strong client communication and high standards of workmanship.
  • Full UK driving licence required with flexibility to travel across the Midlands and surrounding areas, with manufacturer training, ECS/CSCS, or health & safety qualifications such as IPAF, PASMA, or SSSTS considered advantageous.
