Senior Fire Technical Support Engineer

We’re hiring a Senior Fire Technical Support Engineer to join our team at Abbot Fire Group, supporting our growing kitchen fire suppression operation. You don’t need to have worked with ANSUL systems before. If you have solid hands-on engineering experience within the fire industry, we can give you the specialist ANSUL training and knowledge you’ll need. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Fire Engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career, spending less time on the tools while using their technical knowledge and field experience to support our Engineers, solve problems and help drive consistently high standards across our nationwide services.

Perhaps you’re already the Engineer that others call when they’re stuck on a job, need a second opinion or are dealing with a particularly challenging technical issue. You don’t need to have held a technical support or management role before. What matters to us is your practical fire engineering experience, your technical mindset and your ability to help others find the right solution. We deeply value the experience and knowledge our Engineers build in the field. In this role, you’ll put that experience to use in a different way, becoming a key technical point of contact for our field-based Engineers working on ANSUL kitchen fire suppression systems, helping resolve technical issues, supporting quality and compliance, and sharing the knowledge that helps our teams deliver a great service to our customers.

This is a hybrid role, and you will need to be able to work from our Gawcott office, near Buckingham, around 2 days per week.

Here’s a look at some of the things you’ll be doing:

• Be a key technical point of contact for our field-based Engineers, providing practical advice, troubleshooting support and guidance when they encounter challenging jobs or technical issues with ANSUL kitchen fire suppression systems.
• Use your engineering experience to review technical queries and completed works, helping Engineers identify the right solutions while supporting consistently high standards of quality, compliance and customer service.
• Coach, mentor and develop Engineers through knowledge sharing, technical guidance and practical support, helping build capability and confidence across the wider engineering team.
• Work closely with our operational and customer teams to resolve technical escalations, identify recurring issues and help improve the way we install, service and maintain our kitchen fire suppression systems.

Can you show experience in some of these areas:

• Current or previous hands on experience as a Fire Engineer, Fire Alarm Engineer, Fire Protection Engineer or similar. Practical engineering experience within the fire industry is essential, but previous ANSUL experience is not required.
• Strong technical and fault finding skills, with the confidence to diagnose problems, interpret technical information and use your engineering knowledge to help others reach the right solution.
• The ability to communicate technical information clearly and practically, whether you’re supporting an experienced Engineer, developing someone with less experience or helping colleagues understand an issue.
• A proactive, problem solving approach with a genuine interest in developing others, improving engineering standards and using your field experience to make a wider impact across the business.
