Here at Intersafe we’re seeking a Fixed Wire Testing Engineer/Electrical Test Engineer to join our growing team. We have a wide geographical client base, so if you’re located in Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex, Berkshire, Kent, Buckinghamshire, Bristol, Swindon, Oxford or Reading area we’d love to hear from you.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing fixed wire testing to ensure electrical systems are safe, compliant, and fully documented. Your experience in carrying out EICRs in commercial and industrial environments will be key to delivering top-quality results. Each site you visit will vary in scope, offering a fresh challenge and the opportunity to demonstrate your technical expertise every day.

Here’s a look at some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Perform fixed wire testing in commercial and industrial settings, completing EICRs, observations, thermal imaging reports, and emergency light testing.
  • Submit all reports and job sheets to the company server promptly within the required timeframes.
  • Work on-site 40 hours per week, with flexibility for weekends, evenings, and overnight stays when required.
  • Lead and mentor trainee and junior engineers, assisting with onboarding and training development.
  • Liaise with site contacts to ensure works are completed to specification, on time, and within budget and maintain accurate administrative records, including timesheets, van swaps, and vehicle servicing schedules.

Can you show experience in some of these areas:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ fixed wire testing experience in commercial or industrial environments.
  • Qualified to C&G 2391, 2394/2395, 2360/2330 Level 3, and C&G 2382 (18th Edition).
  • Full current UK driving licence and ability to travel to various sites.
  • Ability to work independently with a flexible approach, attention to detail, and strong organisational skills.
  • Experience in completing EICRs, thermal imaging, emergency lighting tests, and associated reporting.
