We are looking for a Lift Technical Manager who can provide strong technical leadership across the business, supporting engineers with everything from complex fault-finding and diagnostics through to major modernisation and installation projects. You will be responsible for ensuring our engineering activities remain compliant with current lift regulations and industry standards while helping us continually improve technical capability and operational performance.
You will play a pivotal role within our engineering team, acting as the technical escalation point for complex and high-risk works while supporting the development of Senior Engineers, engineers, and apprentices. From day one, you will work closely with our service and repair teams, combining hands-on technical expertise with leadership and development to solve challenges, strengthen engineering competency, and maintain consistently high standards across White Lift Services.
What you receive for joining us:

- The opportunity to work closely with senior leaders who value ownership, communication, and customer-focused delivery.
Here is a look at some of the things you will be doing:
- Providing day-to-day technical support to our lift engineers, assisting with complex fault-finding and diagnostic work, attending sites where required to troubleshoot challenging technical issues, and acting as the escalation point for high-risk or high-complexity jobs.
- Providing technical leadership across lift modernisation and installation projects, reviewing job specifications and general arrangement drawings, offering guidance throughout tender and installation stages, and overseeing testing, commissioning, and technical sign-off.
- Maintaining strong knowledge of current lift regulations, standards, and industry best practice, ensuring our engineering teams consistently work in accordance with these requirements while identifying and implementing opportunities to improve technical and operational performance.
- Supporting the training, development, and competency of our engineering team, including Senior Engineers and apprentices, working closely with service and repair engineers to strengthen technical capability, share knowledge, and drive continuous improvement across the business.
Can you show experience in some of these areas:
- Significant technical experience within the lift industry across areas such as maintenance, repair, modernisation, installation, fault-finding, testing, and commissioning, with the confidence to provide expert guidance on complex technical challenges.
- An NVQ Level 4 qualification in Lift Engineering or a similar relevant qualification, combined with strong and up-to-date knowledge of lift regulations, industry standards, compliance requirements, and recognised engineering best practice.
- Strong technical leadership and communication skills, with experience supporting, mentoring, and developing engineers at different levels and the ability to provide clear guidance, confidently make technical decisions, and act as an escalation point when required.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to review technical challenges across a business and identify practical opportunities to improve performance, competency, and quality.
If you feel you have the skills and drive to make an impact, even if you don’t meet every requirement above, we would still love to hear from you.
