At Alpha Fire Alarms, part of Complii, we’re recruiting a Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join us in the Southeast / London area on a mobile/onsite basis, supporting the delivery of a vital life safety service. This role focuses on the servicing, inspection, and maintenance of fire alarm systems across a range of sites, ensuring full compliance with relevant standards and delivering high-quality, reliable service. The position suits a technically strong engineer with excellent fault-finding ability, strong communication skills, and a customer-focused approach.

Here’s a look at some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Carrying out service inspections, maintenance, and remedial repairs on fire alarm and life safety systems in line with company procedures and industry standards, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard within agreed timescales
  • Diagnosing faults, resolving issues efficiently, reporting deviations to supervisors or management, and ensuring systems are fully compliant and operating correctly
  • Completing accurate and timely documentation, including site paperwork, reports, expenses, and timesheets, while using laptops and fire system software to support service delivery
  • Promoting and maintaining a strong health and safety culture while delivering excellent customer service, maintaining strong client relationships, and demonstrating broad industry knowledge of products, standards, and systems

Can you show experience in some of these areas?

  • Experience with conventional and analogue addressable fire alarm systems, air sampling systems (e.g. Vesda / Wagner), and gas suppression systems
  • Strong understanding of BS 5839-1 & 6 standards and fire alarm software (Morley, Kentec, Advanced, Notifier, Gent)
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to work across multiple sites and stay away when required
  • Relevant industry experience (1–3 years minimum), with CSCS / ECS card (FIA desirable)
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to take responsibility, remain calm under pressure, multi-task, plan and prioritise, and demonstrate excellent face-to-face customer interaction
