At Fire Safe Services, we’re recruiting a Static Fire & Security Engineer to join our established team based at a key client site at the University of Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of an experienced 5-man site team, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance and repairs across a large site consisting of more than 100 buildings. What you receive for joining us:
We’re looking to offer a competitive salary depending on experience, together with a range of benefits including ongoing training and development opportunities to support your technical growth and career progression. As a static role, this position offers the benefit of working at one established site while becoming a key member of the client and engineering team. In addition, we offer a company vehicle, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, your birthday off and company pension.
Here’s a look at some of the things you’ll be doing:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, repairs, and testing of fire alarm and security systems across the site, ensuring work is completed safely, thoroughly, and to the required standards
- Work closely with the established site team to ensure maintenance and reactive works are completed efficiently and within required timescales
- Build strong working relationships with the client and site-based team, providing a professional service and supporting the smooth operation of the site
- Complete electronic job records accurately and efficiently, providing sufficient information on work undertaken, faults identified, and remedial actions required
Can you show experience in some of these areas:
- Basic experience in the maintenance of fire and security systems, with a practical understanding of servicing, fault-finding, testing, and repair processes
- Experience working with Notifier fire alarm systems would be advantageous, although full training can be provided to the right candidate
- A willingness to develop your technical knowledge and learn the specific systems and products installed across the site, with the ability to share site-based knowledge with engineers when required
- Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel, together with good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ideally based within 30 minutes of Selly Oak, Birmingham, with basic industry training or qualifications in Fire & Security, or demonstrable practical knowledge of fire and security maintenance processes
