Here at PH Water & Air Technologies, we have a new opening for an Assistant Ventilation Engineer to join our team working within our Air Department to support our growing workload across ventilation hygiene and fire safety services in the Birmingham area.

Full training will be provided on the job, with additional external industry training where required to help you develop your skills and progress within the business.

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our Lead Engineers with ventilation cleaning, fire damper inspections, and compliance services, while learning industry standards and building a long-term career within the ventilation engineering sector.

Here's a look at some of the things y ou'll be doing

  • Assist the Lead Ventilation Engineer with commercial kitchen extract and ventilation system cleaning to TR19 standards.
  • Support fire damper inspections and testing in accordance with BS9999 requirements.
  • Complete inspection and cleaning reports, including photographs, site notes, and compliance documentation.
  • Travel to customer sites, assist with equipment setup, and maintain safe working practices at all times.

Can you show experience in some of these areas

  • Previous experience within ventilation hygiene, kitchen extract cleaning, fire damper inspections, or a similar industry is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn new skills and industry standards.
  • Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in commercial environments, including working at height and in confined spaces.
  • A full UK driving licence is required
