At Intersafe we’re hiring for a PAT Engineer who will join our team working across customer sites. If you have experience in PAT testing and electrical inspection, we’d love to hear from you. Ideally, you’ll hold a recognised PAT testing qualification such as City & Guilds 2377, along with experience working in accordance with the IET In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment Code of Practice. We value not only your technical ability, but also your commitment to delivering a professional, reliable and friendly service to our clients. A full UK Driving Licence is required, and you must be willing to travel and stay away when required by the business. You may also be required to work outside of core business hours depending on operational requirements.

What you receive for joining us:

  • We’re offering a competitive salary based on a 40-hour working week.
  • In addition, approved additional hours are paid at basic rate, plus a bonus of £0.15 per item after 800 items tested per week.
  • Travel time is paid 30 minutes after leaving home/site.
  • We also offer a company vehicle, company pension, holiday entitlement, testing equipment, uniform and ongoing training and development opportunities.

Here’s a look at some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Carrying out Portable Appliance Testing in accordance with the IET In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment Code of Practice, including fuse changes, plug replacements and re-terminations where required.
  • Submitting daily reports (GAR files) to the required standard, sending working hours daily and ensuring all works are completed within agreed timeframes.
  • Liaising with site contacts and Contracts Managers to provide regular updates, resolve site issues and deliver excellent client service whilst working independently or as part of a team.
  • Supporting the training and onboarding of new and trainee engineers, completing Health & Safety training and assisting with operational requirements such as van swaps and servicing appointments.

Can you show experience in some of these areas:

  • Experience carrying out PAT testing and electrical inspection work, ideally supported by a relevant PAT testing qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to organise workloads, liaise with clients and maintain high standards of professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently, lead teams when required and support the development of junior engineers and trainees.
  • A strong work ethic with excellent punctuality, flexibility to travel and stay away when required and commitment to completing work efficiently and thoroughly.
