At Alpha Fire Alarms, we’re recruiting a Fire Alarm Installation Engineer to join our team across the Southeast/London area. This role focuses on the installation and delivery of fully compliant fire alarm and life safety systems across a variety of commercial and retail projects. The position suits a technically strong engineer with excellent problem-solving ability, strong communication skills, and experience working across fire detection systems within a range of environments.

Here’s a look at some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Carrying out installation and commissioning of fire alarm and life safety systems across a range of sites, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, within agreed timescales and in line with specifications.
  • Identifying and resolving issues efficiently, reporting any deviations between installation and specification to supervisors or management, and ensuring minimal disruption to clients.
  • Completing all documentation accurately and on time, including site paperwork, timesheets, and expenses, while promoting and maintaining high standards of health and safety on site.
  • Delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a professional company image while working across commercial and retail environments.

Can you show experience in some of these areas?

  • Experience with conventional and analogue addressable fire alarm systems, with a strong understanding of BS 5839-1 & 6 and relevant industry experience (1–3 years minimum), with a proactive and flexible approach.
  • Knowledge of air sampling systems such as Vesda or Wagner and experience working with fire alarm software such as Morley, Kentec, Advanced, Notifier, or Gent.
  • Experience in fire alarm installation within commercial and retail environments, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel and work away when required, with strong organisational, time management, and multitasking skills, alongside excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
