About the Role

As Heating Contracts Surveyor, you'll lead the delivery of servicing, inspection and maintenance programmes across a range of mechanical, heating and specialist compliance systems. You'll be responsible for managing contractors, monitoring performance, overseeing budgets and ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements. The role combines technical expertise with project management, giving you the opportunity to oversee projects from initial planning through to completion. You'll work closely with contractors, consultants, trade colleagues and internal teams to ensure compliance activities are completed on time, certificates and records are maintained accurately, and customers receive a high-quality service. You'll also provide technical guidance and support to colleagues across the business, helping to inform decisions, manage risks and identify opportunities to improve services and compliance outcomes. With a mixture of office, home and site-based working, this is a varied role that offers the chance to make a real impact across our homes and communities.

Skills and Experience Needed

We're looking for someone with experience in a building surveying, compliance, maintenance or property safety environment who can demonstrate strong technical knowledge of heating systems and associated regulations. You'll be comfortable managing contractors and projects, monitoring performance and working with a range of stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes. You should be able to organise and prioritise your workload effectively, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences, and take a proactive approach to identifying and managing risk. Experience delivering planned maintenance or cyclical compliance programmes, managing budgets and working within a customer-focused environment will help you succeed in the role. A relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Gas Engineering, Building Surveying or a related discipline is essential, along with a full UK driving licence. Experience within social housing, affordable housing or the management of emerging technologies such as heat pumps and renewable systems would be advantageous, although we recognise that valuable transferable experience can come from a range of sectors.
