The predicted salary is between 125000 - 145000 £ per year.
Our client, an expanding firm of Chartered Accountants, seeks a new Head of Compliance. Reporting to the nominated Partner, duties will include:
- Manage all ICAEW requirements and submit all required returns.
- Ensure all internal processes and controls are in line with all regulations and practice assurance obligations.
- Work with HR to ensure the relevant employee compliance training is carried out and logged e.g. AML, Criminal Finances, GDPR, anti-bribery etc., liaising with the MLRO when required.
- Work with department heads to ensure CPD is carried out in line with Practice Assurance obligation.
- Work with and coordinate key stakeholders in the business to prepare for any external inspections which are carried out in relation to the above areas.
- Implement a process to escalate ‘higher risk’ clients/situations to the Compliance Partner.
- Preparing & communicating compliance & risk updates through oral and written reporting.
- Leading on compliance due diligence throughout any acquisition and merger processes.
- Research & advise when any ethical issues need to be resolved (at Senior Partner level especially if loss to firm or reputational risk at stake).
You should be a qualified Accountant with previous Compliance Experience in a similar accounting or other professional services (law etc.) firm and willing to quickly pick up the detail of ICAEW regulatory requirements if not done before, although our client is also open to non-qualified accountants if they have worked in a similar role for an ICAEW regulated firm.
Please note the role would require office attendance 3-4 days per week though offers flexitime and 6 weeks holiday.
