We are exclusively recruiting for our client, a rapidly growing international payments business, seeking a Head of Compliance & MLRO. Based in the UK you will be responsible for risk & compliance management and will develop & maintain regulatory compliance policies. Reporting to the Board, and managing the team, responsibilities will include:
- Serve as the appointed MLRO, ensuring proper reporting of suspicious activities and compliance with AML regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's compliance policies and procedures.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to all relevant UK regulations, including FCA requirements and other financial services legislation.
- Provide a thorough understanding of compliance practices in both frontier and developed markets to support our global operations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate controls to mitigate compliance risks.
- Lead internal compliance audits and coordinate external audits by regulators and third parties.
- Provide ongoing training and awareness programs for staff on compliance and AML obligations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in regulatory environment and advise senior management accordingly.
- Manage relationships with regulators, external auditors, and compliance consultants.
- Prepare and submit all required regulatory reports accurately and timely.
- Support the development of the company's compliance culture and ensure effective communication across teams.
You should have solid UK AML experience from a similar payments business as an MLRO or Deputy. You should also be able to operate at a strategic level, advising the Founders and Board whilst still able to roll up your sleeves and carry out some of the detailed work yourself. You should have strong relationship management skills, able to work well with Regulators and other external stakeholders.
