Our client, a professional services firm, is looking to fill a maternity cover. Duties will include:
- Design, implement, and maintain an effective compliance program that aligns with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Create policies, procedures, and controls to address key compliance areas, with a clear 'compliance calendar' to ensure necessary reviews and actions are scheduled.
- Take responsibility for full compliance, advising Senior Management of measures to be taken in relation to relevant compliance legislation, and be responsible for implementing changes and requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Assess the impact of regulatory changes on the firm and recommend necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
- Monitor compliance with applicable regulations and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Develop and enforce internal policies and procedures to ensure adherence across the firm.
- Conduct regular internal audits and reviews to assess compliance with internal policies and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance-related matters.
- Identify potential compliance risks, creating and maintaining a risk register for all risk areas across the firm, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and recommend enhancements.
- Implement measures to minimize compliance risks and ensure business continuity.
- Prepare compliance reports to senior management, regulatory authorities, and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of compliance activities, including policies, procedures, and audit findings.
You should have AML experience, an understanding of Data Privacy/GDPR and be willing to pick up other areas such as Health & Safety. You should also be prepared to help out with general office management duties when required.
The firm is proud of its friendly pleasant office environment on the outskirts of Coventry (close to rail links and the M6/major trunk roads) and for a visible role like this, regular office attendance is expected, although 1 or 2 days per week WFH is possible.
