4 days in the office. A prestigious private bank with a significant and growing presence in the UK is seeking a KYC Quality Assurance Analyst (Contract Role).
About the Role
The KYC Quality Assurance (QA) Contractor will be working on behalf of the Financial Crime Compliance team, and will perform independent, risk-based QA reviews on periodic reviews completed by the KYC Advisory team on clients across all risk ratings.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD): Validate compliance with KYC/CDD standards: client identification, verification, beneficial ownership, control structures, source of wealth (SoW), source of funds (SoF), expected activity, screening (sanctions/adverse media/PEP), and risk rating rationale.
- Assess documentation sufficiency, quality, and currency; challenge gaps and ensure remediation is tracked to closure.
- Review, verify, and challenge risk assessments and periodicity alignment with policy.
- Perform quality checks on name screening clearance, PEP, Sanctions and adverse media disposition.
- Validate that EDD requirements for High Risk/PEP clients are appropriately scoped, evidenced, and approved.
- Test adherence to procedures, data quality, and control effectiveness; elevate control weaknesses and potential policy breaches.
- Produce clear QA findings, ratings, and actionable feedback; communicate results to KYC Analysts and Team Leads.
Management Information (MI) and Reporting:
- Assist management in the preparation and analysis of Compliance MI, providing insights into trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
- Support the development and maintenance of dashboards and reports to track financial crime compliance performance.
About You
- 5+ years’ experience in KYC/AML within private banking or wealth management; 2+ years in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or 2LoD testing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of KYC/CDD frameworks for private banking clients: complex ownerships, trusts/foundations, holding structures, family offices, offshore jurisdictions, SoW/SoF assessment, and PEP/High Risk handling.
- Familiarity with sanctions screening, adverse media methodologies, PEP classification, and EDD standards.
- Experience with regulatory expectations (e.g., FATF, local regulations) and audit/compliance testing interactions.
