Overview

THE COMPANY: Our client is a prestigious wealth firm. They are looking for a Financial Crime Compliance Officer to join the business on a 12 month temp basis.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all necessary KYC, source of wealth and other compliance checks on all new high risk, PEP and escalated normal and medium risk accounts.
  • The assessment of PEP, financial crime, terrorist financing, fraud, reputational, jurisdictional and tax related risks.
  • Ensure all Approval information and decisions are sufficiently documented per internal procedure.
  • Provide Compliance guidance to key stakeholders and assist in managing the remediation of documentation.
  • Assist MLRO in preparation and production of material for annual risk assessments and Group requests for information.
  • Conduct the Compliance review of PEP, High Risk and escalated periodic and event driven reviews.
  • The assessment of material changes to source of wealth, PEP, financial crime, terrorist financing, fraud, reputational, jurisdictional and tax related risks.
  • Conduct monthly sample checks on normal and medium risk new accounts.
  • Daily monitoring and release of SWIFT messages picked up on sanctions screening.
  • Daily review and processing of overnight AML alerts for new adverse news reports/criminal activity and investigation of all hits.
  • Daily review and processing of all risk change alerts.
  • Assist with the review of escalated transaction monitoring alerts.
  • Assist staff with interpretation of rules and assist in development of a positive compliance culture.
  • Assist in production of appropriate MI.
  • Daily completion of compliance monitoring tasks as allocated.

Experience Required

  • Experience working in a financial crime role within a Private Banking/Wealth Management is essential.
  • Experience of working in customer due diligence/KYC and financial crime/AML monitoring roles.
  • Experience assessing PEP, financial crime, terrorist financing, fraud, reputational, jurisdictional and tax related risks.
  • Proven track record of writing management information reports on the results of compliance review and monitoring.
  • In addition to Word and Excel, good experience of working with a variety of internal support bespoke systems.
