A prestigious private bank with a significant and growing presence in the UK is seeking a Financial Crime Compliance Alert Analyst, on a 12 month FTC basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate escalated transaction monitoring alerts generated from the Bank’s surveillance systems.
  • Analyse transaction activity across complex clients, structures, trusts, foundations, holding companies special purpose vehicles, partnerships and other legal entities.
  • Develop a clear understanding of beneficial ownership, control, ownership chains and inter-company relationships to identify potential financial-crime risks.
  • Escalate material or higher-risk cases to senior stakeholders and relevant financial crime teams
  • Execute sound judgement when assessing risk within complex private banking relationships
  • Document investigations with clear rationale and evidential support.
  • Review and investigate alerts generated from the screening solutions
  • Determining true versus false matches.
  • Conducting enhanced research using internal and external sources.
  • Assessing sanctions, reputational and regulatory risk.
  • Escalating confirmed or potential matches in accordance with policy.
  • Supporting periodic rescreening exercises.
  • Apply a risk-based approach to all investigations.
  • Identify emerging financial crime typologies.
  • Consider AML, sanctions, tax evasion, bribery and corruption indicators where relevant.
  • Recommend customer risk rating changes where appropriate.
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of alerts within agreed service levels.
  • Ensure investigations are completed accurately and consistently.
  • Record investigation outcomes in relevant case management systems.
  • Provide guidance on financial crime requirements to internal stakeholders.
  • Support regulatory and internal audit requests.
  • Assist management in the preparation of MI
  • Support the development and maintenance of dashboards and reports
  • Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of financial crime compliance policies and procedures
  • Identify recurring alert trends and opportunities to improve system calibration.
  • Support optimisation of transaction monitoring and screening scenarios.
  • Contribute to procedure updates and control enhancements.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing for new monitoring systems where required

About You

  • Proven experience in a financial crime compliance role within a private banking or wealth management environment.
  • Strong knowledge of transaction monitoring, screening and financial crime workflow systems and processes.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ICA Diploma in Financial Crime Compliance, CAMS) are desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise advice to stakeholders.
