Ph Water & Air Technologies is looking for an experienced Fire Damper Remedial Engineer. You will be responsible for assessing, testing, and repairing fire dampers within buildings throughout the UK, with the majority of the work being based in London/South London. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the safety of buildings and play a vital role in our company's mission.

Here’s a look at some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Inspect, test, and maintain fire dampers in commercial and residential buildings, identifying faults through detailed assessments and ensuring compliance with current fire safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Carry out remedial work such as cleaning, repairing, tek screw removal/replacement, or full replacement of fire dampers, while ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained.
  • Complete accurate documentation and reporting, including inspection records, test results, and any corrective actions taken; liaise with clients to communicate findings and recommend necessary remedial work.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely completion of tasks while adhering to health and safety regulations and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of fire safety practices.

Can you show experience in some of these areas?

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Fire Damper Remedial Engineer or similar, with strong mechanical aptitude and proven ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain fire damper systems using relevant tools and equipment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fire damper systems including installation, operation, and maintenance, alongside familiarity with current UK fire safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills, with the ability to analyse technical information, produce clear reports, and liaise effectively with clients.
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management skills, holding a valid UK driving licence and relevant qualifications/certifications in fire safety, engineering, or related fields.
