We are recruiting an experienced Transport Planner for a busy multi-drop transport operation based in Park Royal (NW10). This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing logistics business, playing a key role in route planning, transport compliance, resource management, and operational efficiency. This position is ideal for someone with previous transport planning experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys problem-solving, route optimisation, and working closely with drivers and operational teams.

Location: Park Royal, London (NW10)

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Working Hours: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 per annum

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

  • Planning and optimising delivery routes using route planning software
  • Managing daily transport plans to meet warehouse cut-off times and customer requirements
  • Monitoring and adjusting routes to maximise vehicle utilisation and efficiency
  • Ensuring delivery time windows and service level agreements are achieved
  • Supporting routing across multiple depot locations
  • Ensuring compliance with Drivers' Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive (WTD), and vehicle weight restrictions
  • Liaising with drivers regarding route performance and operational issues
  • Maximising payload utilisation and identifying opportunities for additional runs
  • Maintaining accurate customer and transport data across planning systems
  • Updating route planning parameters, vehicle configurations, and operational data
  • Tracking and analysing planned versus actual route performance
  • Producing reports and operational data to support business decisions
  • Organising agency and subcontractor driver requirements
  • Supporting cost control through effective route planning and resource utilisation
  • Assisting in reducing subcontractor dependency through efficient planning
  • Producing transport performance reports and KPIs
  • Managing transport-related queries and inbox communications
  • Maintaining operational trackers and transport records
  • Supporting the day-to-day running of the transport office

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Previous experience within a transport planning, logistics, transport administration or warehouse operations role
  • Experience planning multi-drop transport operations, ideally within London
  • Good knowledge of Drivers' Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive (WTD)
  • Strong IT skills including Excel, Word, Outlook and transport systems
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with drivers, warehouse teams and internal departments
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure

Desirable

  • Experience using Paragon route planning software or similar systems
  • Knowledge of transport compliance and road transport legislation
  • HGV Class 2 Licence
  • CPC qualification or transport compliance knowledge
  • Strong geographical knowledge of London and the UK road network
  • 3+ years transport planning experience
