We are seeking dedicated, compassionate, and reliable Complex Care Assistants to join our community-based care team. In this role, you will support service users with complex and often life-changing health needs, enabling them to live safely, comfortably, and independently in their own homes. You will play a vital part in enhancing quality of life by delivering high-quality, person-centred care that respects dignity, promotes choice, and supports each individual's physical and emotional well-being. This is a highly rewarding position where you can make a meaningful difference every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective moving and handling using the appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Deliver personal care, support with hygiene, dressing, and continence care.
- Administer medication.
- Support with feeding and nutrition, including PEG feeding where required.
- Deliver tracheostomy care.
- Confidently operate specialist equipment such as cough assist machines.
- Monitor and record all clinical interventions, promptly reporting any changes.
Person-Centred Support
- Provide emotional reassurance and build positive, trusting relationships with service users and their families.
- Encourage and assist with day-to-day activities, routines, and meaningful engagement to promote independence and quality of life.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
- A genuine passion for supporting people with complex health needs.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends.
- Willingness to learn and undertake specialist clinical training.
Desirable:
- At least 6 months care experience in the UK.
- Previous experience with complex care tasks such as tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, suctioning, or ventilator support is advantageous.
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own car is advantageous but not an essential requirement.
