We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Therapeutic Residential Children’s Support Worker to join our team in Oxford, providing specialised care and support to children and young people with autism, learning differences, and complex needs in residential settings. As a therapeutic support worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment that fosters emotional well-being, independence, and social development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred therapeutic care and support to children and young people in residential settings, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Assist with daily routines, personal care, and social activities, encouraging independence and social interaction.
  • Support children in developing essential life skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and self-care, and promote confidence and self-esteem.
  • Implement individualised care plans, therapeutic strategies, and risk assessments to meet the unique needs of each child, ensuring a tailored approach to their care and support.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including therapists, teachers, and healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive support and care.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to safeguarding and professional standards, and contribute to the development of care plans and therapeutic strategies.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with children and young people with autism, learning differences, or complex needs is desirable, but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach, with a strong commitment to providing person-centred care and support.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekdays and weekends, to ensure continuity of care and support.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection.
