We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and welcoming school in Melksham. This temporary, weekday-only role is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive impact on students’ learning and development—without weekend commitments.
Role Overview
In this rewarding position, you will provide classroom and community-based support, assist with personalised learning plans, and contribute to a positive, inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support students one-on-one and in small groups across a range of subjects
Assist with classwork, homework, and exam preparation
Help set, monitor, and review individual student targets
Deliver tailored interventions to meet student needs
Support learning in the classroom and during off-site activities
Act as a key worker for designated pupils
Participate in lunch, break, and on-call supervision
Promote safeguarding and student wellbeing
What We’re Looking For
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
Experience working with children or young people in education, care, or community settings
Confident using Microsoft Office and basic digital tools
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Positive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude
Desirable
Experience supporting autistic students
Background in assisting with STEM subjects
