You will be supporting children and young people who may have autism, learning disabilities, complex needs and additional support requirements, using a person-centred approach to help them feel safe, valued and empowered. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play an important role in helping young people develop confidence, independence, communication and life skills, while providing consistent and compassionate day-to-day support. THE ROLE Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing high-quality, person-centred support to children and young people.
- Supporting daily routines, personal care and activities where required.
- Promoting independence, confidence and life skills.
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour.
- Encouraging participation in activities and community opportunities.
- Building positive and trusting relationships.
- Following individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records and providing effective handovers.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, families and other professionals.
