We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team in Oxford, providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting. As a support worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and social development of our service users. Key Responsibilities
- Provide emotional support, guidance, and mentoring to children and young people, helping them to build confidence, self-esteem, and independence.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support.
- Create a positive and inclusive living environment, promoting social skills, education, and recreational activities.
- Manage challenging behaviours, using de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement to maintain a safe and calm atmosphere.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organisational policies.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience of working with children and young people in a residential or community setting, either in a paid or voluntary capacity.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Children and Young People's Workforce, or a related field (desirable).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with service users, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts, to meet the needs of the service.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and diversity, with a passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred support.
