We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team in Devizes, Wiltshire, providing high-quality, person-centred care to residents in a peaceful and spiritual setting. As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting residents’ wellbeing through personal care, assistance with daily routines, and gentle companionship, creating a safe and comforting environment that enhances their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respectful, person-centred personal care tailored to each resident, including support with personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with medication management, meal preparation, and feeding support to ensure residents’ nutritional needs are met.
- Encourage participation in daily activities, such as arts, crafts, and exercise, and provide companionship to reduce social isolation.
- Support mobility and ensure physical comfort with a caring approach, using hoists and other equipment as required.
- Help maintain a clean, welcoming environment through light domestic tasks, such as laundry and cleaning.
- Promote routine and consistency to enhance residents’ comfort and stability, working closely with the care team to develop personalized care plans.
- Maintain a calm and peaceful presence at all times, providing emotional support and reassurance to residents and their families.
Required Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in care, especially personal support and companionship, is preferred, although training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
- Kind, patient, and composed, with strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication abilities.
- Reliable and flexible to provide consistent care, working a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Ability to work in a female-only service, providing sensitive and respectful care to residents.
