This is an excellent opportunity to work within a trauma-informed service where you'll have the chance to make a genuine difference to the lives of vulnerable young people.

About the Home

This service is a welcoming residential home caring for up to four children and young people. The home currently supports three young people, aged 15-16 years (two females and one male), providing a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where they can build confidence, develop life skills, and work towards positive futures.

The Role

As Team Leader, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the home while leading by example and maintaining high standards of care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading shifts and supporting the staff team to deliver outstanding care.
  • Providing therapeutic, trauma-informed support to children and young people with EBD.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with young people.
  • Supporting behaviour management using positive and restorative approaches.
  • Completing care planning, incident reports, and other administrative duties.
  • Ensuring safeguarding and Ofsted standards are consistently met.
  • Supporting, mentoring, and supervising Residential Support Workers.
  • Working collaboratively with families, social workers, schools, and other professionals.
  • Promoting independence, resilience, and positive outcomes for young people.

The role includes approximately 80% shift work and 20% dedicated administration time, with a rota that includes evenings and weekends.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience as a Team Leader or Senior Residential Support Worker within a children's residential home.
  • A strong understanding of therapeutic and trauma-informed care.
  • Experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) as a minimum.
  • Team Teach training (preferred).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A calm, resilient, and positive approach to supporting young people with complex needs.

What We Offer

  • Temporary contract for up to 6 months.
  • Immediate start available.
  • A supportive and experienced management team.
  • The opportunity to work in a well-established therapeutic home.
  • A rewarding role where you can make a lasting impact on young people's lives.
  • Competitive hourly rate.

If you're passionate about therapeutic childcare and have the experience to lead a dedicated team, we'd love to hear from you.
