We are currently recruiting experienced Night Support Workers to work within a residential setting supporting unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people. This is a rewarding opportunity for experienced support workers who are passionate about working with vulnerable adolescents and helping young people feel safe, supported and settled.
THE ROLE
- Maintaining a safe and supportive environment throughout the night.
- Providing appropriate support to young people.
- Ensuring the safety and welfare of residents overnight.
- Building positive, professional relationships with vulnerable young people.
- Providing reassurance and emotional support when needed.
- Responding calmly and appropriately to incidents or challenging situations.
- Following safeguarding procedures and reporting concerns appropriately.
- Carrying out regular checks and maintaining a safe environment.
- Supporting young people with routines and promoting independence.
- Maintaining accurate records and handover information.
- Working effectively as part of the wider residential team.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Previous experience working with vulnerable young people or adolescents is essential.
- Experience in residential childcare or support work.
- Experience in supporting vulnerable adolescents.
- Experience in semi-independent or supported accommodation.
- Experience in social care or youth services.
- Experience in challenging behaviour and safeguarding.
You must be reliable, calm, patient and resilient, with the ability to work independently during night shifts while knowing when to escalate concerns.
WHAT WE OFFER
