Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and household tasks, using a person‑centred approach to ensure their needs are met.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, helping to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
- Help clients maintain their independence and well‑being by supporting them in community activities and appointments.
- Safely assist clients with mobility using Moving & Handling techniques, ensuring their safety and dignity at all times.
- Support individuals who may display challenging behaviour, responding calmly and effectively to ensure a safe and positive environment.
- Support clients in achieving their goals and aspirations, promoting a sense of purpose and fulfilment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months UK‑based experience as a support worker.
- Experience or confidence in working with challenging behaviour.
- A practical manual handling certificate.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to care, with a strong desire to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
- Reliable and flexible, with a willingness to work varied shifts and locations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, using initiative and judgment to respond to client needs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
