Location: Guildford

Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday–Friday (52 weeks per year)

Salary: £26,000-£28,500 (depending on experience)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Nursery Practitioner / Room Leader to lead a class and support a small team in delivering outstanding care and education for children aged birth to 8 years for one of our nursery clients in the Guildford area. This is a key leadership role within a warm, inclusive and stimulating early years environment.

The Role:

  • Lead, supervise and motivate a team to deliver high-quality teaching and care.
  • Plan and implement engaging activities tailored to children’s individual needs.
  • Act as a role model, mentor and first point of contact for staff and students in the room.
  • Ensure safeguarding, welfare and wellbeing are always a priority, in line with SSCP and DfE guidance.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, carers and external professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and uphold nursery policies and procedures.

About You:

  • An experienced early years practitioner with leadership or room leader experience.
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding and child development.
  • Confident in managing staff performance, inductions and training needs.
  • Passionate about inclusive practice, quality improvement and teamwork.

Additional Information:

  • Nursery opening hours are 8:00am–6:00pm (flexibility required).
  • Appointment subject to an enhanced DBS check, two satisfactory references and a six-month probation period.
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities provided.
