We are seeking an experienced and confident Clinical Lead Nurse to work on an agency basis within a CQC-regulated residential children’s service in Northampton. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership role supporting children and young people with complex health needs, while working flexibly through agency placements. This role provides clinical leadership, ensuring safe, high-quality, and evidence-based nursing care. You will lead and support a team of nurses, maintain regulatory compliance and inspection readiness, and work collaboratively with families and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong clinical leadership and oversight of nursing practice
  • Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based care to children and young people
  • Lead, support, and mentor nursing staff, promoting best practice
  • Ensure compliance with CQC standards and maintain inspection readiness
  • Work in partnership with families, carers, and external professionals
  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and clinical documentation
  • Support safeguarding processes and promote a safe care environment
  • Deputise for the Registered Manager when required

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RGN/RNLD/RMN) with active NMC registration
  • Degree-level qualification in Nursing
  • Recognised NMC Teaching and Assessing qualification
  • Proven experience working with children and young people with complex needs
  • Strong leadership and decision‑making skills
  • In‑depth knowledge of safeguarding, CQC standards, and clinical governance
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
