Overview
We are looking to recruit a design engineer to join a leading client in Sheffield on a Contract basis on a range of large scale fabrication and machined parts related projects.
This is a contract role initially for 3 months but may be extended.
Candidates must have expertise in working on medium to heavy fabricated products.
This will be based on site in Sheffield; therefore candidates must be willing to work on site 5 days per week.
This contract is Inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities
- Production of high‑quality engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
- Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of engineering drawing projects.
- Conduct quality assurance (QA/QC) checks across engineering CAD deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to resolve design issues and ensure feasibility.
- Assist in developing CAD systems, best practices, and drawing office procedures.
- Manage document control processes, including drawing file management and transmittals.
Qualifications
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Engineering.
- Demonstrable background working with machined and fabricated parts.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities, with a proactive and solutions‑focused mindset.
