Our client, a leading manufacturer of specialist equipment, is looking to recruit for an Engineering Manager to join the business on a permanent basis. The purpose of the role is to lead a team of 4 multi-discipline design engineers in the delivery of projects, leading the team on New Designs and allocation of resource against production plans while working closely with the manufacturing manager to ensure on-time delivery.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in a lead role managing design teams in a medium to heavy manufacturing environment to ensure the efficient manufacture of complex components on time, to budget and to the high-quality standards required. This role is a great opportunity for a driven manager to join an established business and provides a great opportunity to develop and mentor a team of experienced engineers.
Hours – 8 – 4.30 Mon – Thursday / Friday 0800 – 3.15. This role is available for an immediate start and will be based in York.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:- Lead the Engineering Team on New designs and be accountable for technical output.
- Allocation of resource for NPD and CE against production plan.
- Implement and maintain design and drafting standards.
- Initiate and run design investigations based on trends shown by the quality and technical log or set by the SMT.
- Organise Testing against Type approval plan and liaise with technical and governing bodies.
- Support after service with in-field issues.
- Input and hold responsibility for engineering budgets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
- Support Sales team in developing product specification and quote activities.
- Previous experience in a Lead/management role within a design function is essential.
- Strong man manager with the ability to drive, motivate and mentor your team.
- Ideally degreed qualified in a relevant mechanical discipline.
- Demonstrable experience working within a manufacturing engineering environment.
- Knowledge of the Agri industry is highly advantageous.
