Due to continued growth and a strong order book, we are looking to recruit for a number of Mechanical Fitters to join a global manufacturer based near Rochdale.
The successful candidates will be required to read engineering drawings to assemble products with a variety of different mechanical principles. This may include mechanical assembly, hydraulics and pneumatic components. The ideal person will be a well-rounded Mechanical Engineer; this is not just assembly fitting.
Interested candidates must be Time Served with demonstrable experience working within a manufacturing assembly-based environment. Experience working with larger products is advantageous.
Hours - Mon to Thurs, 8:00-4:30, Fri 07:45-3:15.
All OT Paid at premium rates - OTE of £40k +.

The Role
- Carrying out assembly of products in line with standard operating procedures and relevant standards.
- Carrying out testing of products to specified product methods and in line with standards and procedures and health and safety requirements.
- Liaising with supervisors on quality issues arising from manufacturing.
- Ensuring that all tools/machines used are fit for purpose and reporting any problems to Supervision immediately.
- Recommending and carrying out any improvements in line with the company’s continuous improvement program.
- Working at all times within Health and Safety guidelines, including the correct use of PPE.
- Keeping accurate and up to date production records.
- Showing flexibility and working in other parts of the production areas as required.
Qualifications/Skills
- Time served within a mechanical engineering capacity.
- Experienced in assembly/Disassembly of products.
- Experienced working with Hydraulics/Pneumatics (advantageous).
- Attention to detail and pride in quality of work.
- Demonstrable experience in assembly - Medium to Heavy Engineering is highly desirable.
