My client is a well-established medium sized engineering business with a long history and exciting plans for business growth. They are a medium to heavy fabrication business who specialise within the Nuclear, Aerospace & O&G sectors. They are looking to strengthen their team and appoint a Manufacturing Engineer which will be based at their site in Oldham. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct in-depth analysis of existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
  • Apply lean principles to eliminate waste and improve production efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards by identifying and addressing quality issues.
  • Implement quality control measures and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
  • Analyse production costs and propose cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or safety.
  • Evaluate machinery and tooling for efficiency and recommend upgrades or replacements as needed.
  • Provide training to machine operators and shop floor employees on new processes and best practices.
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement activities to drive ongoing enhancements in operations.
  • Ensure that all processes and workflows comply with safety regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate safety hazards to maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
