We are currently recruiting for a Senior HSE Advisor / Health and Safety Manager to join an extremely busy Manufacturing Engineering client based in Oldham. This position has been created due to company growth which has created growth within the team. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background working within a similar role with exposure to working within a Manufacturing Engineering environment with an understanding and appreciation for risk and hazards within this type of working environment. Candidates must have strong people skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of staff and look to truly educate staff in relation to HSE process. Working knowledge of current HSE standards (ISO 45001 and 14001) are a must. Hours - Monday - Friday 8AM - 4.30PM
Role Description
- To support the organisation to meet compliance against the relevant Health and Safety related standards within the Company and legislative requirements.
- Support the Senior Quality Manager in ensuring the delivery of Health and Safety systems and processes in line with statutory responsibilities and to ensure continued maintenance of existing and future accreditations.
- To proactively contribute to safety initiatives within the Company including identifying areas for improvement and good practice.
- Incident investigation reports and implement appropriate corrective actions to both prevent recurrence and encourage continuous improvement.
- Carry out proactive and reactive Health and Safety assessments on a regular basis and when required, ensuring action is implemented leading to change.
- Use outcomes of audits to advise on the development and implementation of safe systems of work.
- Delivery of appropriate training including toolbox talks and inductions.
- Engagement and communication with the appropriate authorities and regulators where required.
Skills & Attributes
- Demonstrable experience within a similar HSE role within an engineering/ manufacturing environment.
- NEBOSH National General Certificate.
- IOSH qualified.
- Ability to coach, train and engage employees.
- Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook literate.
- Excellent communication skills.
