Due to an increase in workload and continued company growth, we are recruiting a CNC Turner to join our client on a permanent basis near Blackburn.

Successful candidates will ideally be time served to ensure that jobs are manufactured in accordance with supplied technical drawings and specifications. Candidates will be required to programme, set and operate CNC Lathes utilising Fanuc controls; therefore, experience with this is a must.

Hours:

  • 6:00 - 14:15 Monday to Thursday / 06:00 - 12:00 Friday
  • 13:45 - 22:00 Monday to Thursday / 12:00 - 18:00 Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Setting and operating chucking CNC lathes using new and proven programs and tooling.
  • Fanuc based machine experience.
  • Programming new parts using CAM software and conventional code.
  • Manual editing of past programs to improve efficiency and lead times.
  • Evaluating new tooling solutions.
  • Running multiple machines and working with multiple materials.
  • Performing in process inspection using hand measuring equipment and CMM.
  • Maintaining the machine on a daily basis including coolant conditioning to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Keeping the working area clean, tidy and organised.
  • Training/mentoring of new apprentices and new starters.

Qualifications:

  • Time-served with demonstrable experience operating a CNC Lathe, working to very tight tolerances.
  • Experience using Fanuc controls to programme.
  • Will have experience working on a range of materials including Stainless, Aluminium/Titanium.
