Due to an increase in workload, we are recruiting for a CNC Miller / Horizontal Borer to join a diverse client in a medium to heavy engineering environment on a permanent basis. Successful candidates must be time-served or able to demonstrate competency through experience to ensure that jobs are manufactured in accordance with supplied technical drawings and specifications.

Ideally, candidates will be experienced in programming CNC Millers or Horizontal Borers using Fanuc or Heidenhain Controls to manufacture components for a range of industries including Oil and Gas and Nuclear. Due to the volume of work, there is a large amount of overtime available in this role, all paid at premium rates to significantly increase earning potential.

Hours: Monday - Friday 6AM-2PM / 2PM-10PM / 10PM-6AM

The ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience working within a machine shop environment machining both fabricated and cast components to fine tolerances in either single or batch quantities and in a variety of steel grades.
  • The ability to manipulate a CNC Horizontal Borer using Fanuc Controls.
  • The ability to read, understand and work to engineering drawings.
  • Overhead crane operating experience.

Candidate Skills:

  • Ideally time-served.
  • Demonstrable experience operating a CNC Controlled CNC Millers / Horizontal Borer working to very tight tolerances.
  • Must be able to programme your own work using Fanuc / Heidenhain controls.
