Due to an increase in workload, my client, a leading engineering company based near Shipley, is looking to recruit a Quality Inspector to join their existing Night Shift team on a permanent basis. Candidates will be required to inspect a range of machined components using a variety of dimensional inspection equipment (micrometers/verniers) and CMM equipment (training provided where needed). Candidates must be time served with a wealth of quality inspection experience to be considered for this role. Candidates must be experienced in reading engineering drawings and working with dimensional inspection equipment and checking accompanying documentation. Must have experience working to extremely tight tolerances.
Nights are 40 hours Mon – Thurs starting between 5:30pm – 8:30pm and finishing between 4:30am – 7:30am.
Role Description:- Incoming goods, first off, intermediate and final inspection of in-house manufactured product in order to identify and isolate any non-conforming material or parts.
- Use of micrometers, air gauges, bowers micrometers, height gauges, plug gauges, etc., to measure dimensions and form.
- Operation of CMM measuring equipment (training will be given).
- Completing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and checking compliance of material and process.
- Creation of inspection documentation, parts labelling and records. This includes some PC work involving spreadsheets and databases.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Raw material inspections and document pack verifications.
- Time served in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Conversant in the use of traditional measuring equipment (micrometers/verniers).
- Experienced in the use of CMM - advantageous.
- Experience as a Quality Inspector within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
- Experience inspecting machined components to tight tolerances.
- Confident in reading engineering drawings.
