We are currently recruiting for a Production Controller to join an extremely busy Manufacturing Engineering client based North of York. This position has been created due to an increased workload and the client is looking to grow its current team.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a Production Controller/Planning role within an engineering/manufacturing environment, ideally with experience in machining/fabrication/assembly. The successful candidate will be required to manage all aspects of planning resulting in continuous output.
Hours: Monday - Thursday 08:30 - 16:30 / Friday 08:30 - 16:00. All overtime paid at premium rates Monday - Sunday.
Role Description:
- Releasing job cards into production in line with agreed schedules.
- Handling change to WIP from engineering up revision, and ensuring correct embodiment is followed and actioned.
- Pushing and pulling product through the production and stores departments.
- Reviewing shortages and expediting priority materials and activities in line with production requirements.
- Assisting with progress reporting on production.
- Direct liaison with project managers on dedicated projects.
- Small projects or technical sales order management with support from the project team.
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvements as part of a team.
Skills & Attributes:
- Demonstrable experience within a planning/production controller role within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage work pressure.
- Good understanding of an MRP system - ideally MS Dynamics.
- Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook literate.
- Excellent communication skills.
