Our client, a leading manufacturer within the Offshore/Subsea sector, are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis due to continued growth. The business is renowned globally for their innovation and delivery to offshore projects around the world. You will benefit from long-term progression, ongoing technical development, and a highly collaborative engineering team focused on innovation and sustainable solutions.
The successful candidate will be involved in the development of a range of subsea and mechanical engineering products, taking designs from initial concept through manufacturing to client delivery. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in a Mechanical Design role within a Manufacturing Engineering environment, ideally with exposure to the offshore/subsea/Oil and Gas sector.
Candidates must be degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with experience using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Ansys. Skills with MathCAD and Excel are also advantageous. This role is available for an immediate start with hybrid working available (3 days in office / 2 days at home).
Job Description:- Producing conceptual and detailed designs using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
- Carrying out engineering calculations, structural analysis, and FEA activities
- Supporting product development, testing, and manufacturing processes
- Creating technical reports, calculations, and manufacturing drawings
- Participating in design reviews and ensuring compliance with industry standards
- Supporting client meetings and project delivery activities
- Collaborating closely with internal engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (Mechanical Engineering)
- Experience in design for manufacture, ideally with experience on projects for Oil and Gas/Subsea/Offshore Wind
- Experienced using 3D Modelling software (Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD)
- Experience using ANSYS for FEA Analysis
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage work pressure
